2012 Aug 22

University of St. Francis (USF) student Steven Grajek, of Schaumburg, Ill., was among 25 student leaders helping the university's newest students transition into college life this fall.

Grajek, a member of the university's Orientation Board, assisted 229 freshmen and their families Aug. 16-19 as they moved into the residence halls and became orientated with USF's Joliet campus.

USF's Director of Student Development Dominique Annis said Orientation Board members are ambassadors for the university.

"Being a member of the Orientation Board is an exciting opportunity to meet new students and assist in their successful transition to university life," she said. "Orientation Board members must be a positive, caring individual, concerned about the adjustment of all new students to the university."

The University of St. Francis in Joliet serves 3,400 students nationwide, offering 44 undergraduate programs, four degree-completion programs and 15 graduate programs, including two doctoral programs.
