Allison Sterka led new students as member of USF's Orientation Board

University of St. Francis (USF) student Allison Sterka, of Homer Glen , Ill., was among 30 student leaders helping the university's newest students transition into college life this fall.

Sterka, a member of the university's Orientation Board, assisted a record number of freshmen students and their families Aug. 15-18 as they moved into the residence halls and became orientated with USF's Joliet campus.

USF's Director of Student Development Dominique Annis said Orientation Board members are ambassadors for the university.

"Being a member of the Orientation Board is an exciting opportunity to meet new students and assist in their successful transition to university life," she said. "Orientation Board members must be a positive, caring individual, concerned about the adjustment of all new students to the university."
